Train Travel
Are there IC cards that I can use for traveling on public transportation?
Yes, Japan has several IC cards that can be used for traveling on public transportation, including trains, buses, and even some taxis. These cards are rechargeable and can be used across the country, making travel more convenient.
In addition to transportation, IC cards can also be used for payments at convenience stores, vending machines, and some restaurants.
A deposit is usually required when purchasing a card, and unused balances can be refunded upon returning the card at designated locations (or you can keep the card as a memento or for your next trip!).

Note: In areas with fewer transport networks, cash is necessary to purchase your tickets.
