Train Travel
Is it true that trains are the most convenient way to travel in Japan?
Japan's public transportation system is very well developed, and in major cities, it is a good idea to use such transportation systems as the Shinkansen, trains, buses, and so on.
However, in some areas of Japan, such as the suburbs and rural areas, public transportation is not well developed. In such areas, we recommend that you ask a local or a travel agent to arrange transportation, or rent a car or take a cab, whichever is more suitable for the area and your itinerary.
